Assistant General Counsel, Asian Development Bank
Cheong-Ann Png is an Assistant General Counsel of the Asian Development Bank. He leads the legal team responsible for ADB sovereign operations in East Asia, Central Asia, Afghanistan, Pakistan and the Caucus region. He has similar managerial or operational experiences in Southeast Asia, South Asia and the Pacific. He also leads the legal team on AML/CFT, including representing ADB at FATF and in coordination with the IMF, World Bank and UN Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate. Prior to joining ADB in 2007, he worked on AML/CFT at the IMF in Washington DC from 2003 to 2007 and in M&A and corporate finance at Herbert Smith (now Herbert Smith Freehills) in London from 2000 to 2003. He received his LLB and PhD (Law) from the University of London and has been admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales and as an advocate and solicitor in Singapore.
