Teaching and research facilities
Art and design studios
South Bank is home to a range of outstanding studio spaces that provide opportunities for both practical learning and community building.
These include bespoke spaces for Contemporary Australian Indigenous Art, design, drawing, jewellery-making, painting, photography and printmaking.
Queensland Conservatorium Theatre
At the centre of Brisbane’s premier arts precinct, you’ll find our acoustically superb Conservatorium Theatre.
Host to student-led and professional performances alike, this theatre showcases our place within South Bank’s cultural heart—and our commitment to the arts.
Griffith Film School editing suites
South Bank offers our students access to industry-standard post-production labs, editing suites and a movie theatre—as well as TV, stop motion and sound recording studios.
This means students can learn using the equipment they’ll work with when they graduate and have the opportunity to pursue their own creative vision to its fullest.
Liveworm
Liveworm is a work-integrated learning design incubator within the Queensland College of Art and Design. With studios both at the Gold Coast and South Bank, it offers our students the opportunity to bridge the gap between education and professional practice.
As well as working on various projects for the University, Liveworm also delivers projects for not-for-profits, government and select commercial organisations.
Study facilities
Library
South Bank offers two libraries on campus: the Queensland College of Art and Design library and the Queensland Conservatorium library.
Study zones
There are plenty of places around campus to hit the books or meet up for a team assignment. But, if you need to knuckle down and focus, there are also bookable and free-use study spaces in our libraries.
Computer labs
You’re welcome to use your own personal device for university study, but if you’d like to access a laptop or desktop computer, our South Bank campus has a range of options to suit your needs.
Inspiration and relaxation
Nestled within the South Bank Parklands, our campus is surrounded by lush gardens, walking paths and iconic attractions that are ideal for students seeking inspiration and relaxation.
The campus is just a few minutes walk from the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, as well as the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art, the Queensland Museum and South Bank’s bustling dining precinct.
Student Services
We offer a range of student services, including health and medical, equity, welfare, counselling and chaplaincy services.
