Learn from the best, just minutes from the beach
Located within the cutting-edge Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct, alongside Gold Coast University Hospital, the Gold Coast is our largest and most populous campus. Teaching and research span most study areas, with a strong focus on health, though students of various disciplines come to take advantage of the world-class facilities and enviable access to some of Australia’s best beaches.
We’re proud of our place in the Gold Coast and boast close links to local communities, businesses and cultural and sporting organisations, including partnerships with the Gold Coast Titans and Sea World. Our health clinics and many of our sporting facilities are open to the public, creating a diverse, vibrant atmosphere and unique practical learning opportunities for our students.

The Gold Coast’s University using games to help dolphins
Gaming can be a great way to exercise your mind—and that doesn’t just go for humans, as our engineering students have discovered. In partnership with Sea World, they have designed, printed and programmed a light-up button game as an enrichment activity for rescue dolphins. Too vulnerable to be released into the wild, the dolphins benefit from mental stimulation as they learn to recognise and respond to illumination patterns. In future stages, the project will develop an AI-trained video game-style exhibit, through which visitors will be able to compete against the dolphins. The School of Engineering and Built Environment project has involved several student cohorts during the device’s research and development.
